In other news… I have had the distinct pleasure of being interviewed by PopSyndicate writer Alex Hambly. The interview goes into quite a bit of detail about my process as a writer, and how I became one. I have been, to my surprise, accused of mysteriousness. Well, if you’ve spent any time on my blog, I can’t see how you could possible sustain that delusion, considering that this place fairly reeks of my psyche. Nevertheless, I am mysterious no more. I am, it seems, revealed here: NSFW: Remittance Girl at PopSyndicate.

Now you know me, I bet you aren’t going to love me anymore.

And in yet other news… I was invited by the erudite and multi-talented Robert James Russell to submit a short story to his new upcoming anthology Sex Scene. This is how he describes it:

It is all around us—inescapable, unavoidable—and every person in the world has an opinion of it (good, bad or otherwise), regardless of culture, race or creed. But one thing is for certain: Sex is absolutely a part of being human.

With stories written by twelve of the freshest, most talented writers working today, this anthology aims to decontextualize sex, asking the reader to look at the act itself as not only a form of art, but also as the very basest of animal urges.  The result is a cacophony of unique perspectives, cultures, styles and scenes, from soft and romantic, to deranged and hardcore, that invite you to leave any hang-ups behind and actively engage in conversations about the all-too-often taboo topic, perhaps realizing that we are not all so different after all.

‘Sex Scene: An Anthology’ 2010 | 08.13, Robert James Russell’s Blog

I am in the company of a very hallowed group including: Sabina England, Penny Goring, Dan Holloway, Sara Lippmann, Kirsty Logan, Sarah Melville, Leah Petersen, Jeff Pfaller, Scott C. Rogers, Robert James Russell and Cherise Wolas.

The books will be for sale, just to cover the cost, I think, but the PDF version of the anthology will be available for free. Yay.

Moreover, the cover is fantastic. It’s designed by John Vestevich whose work can be seen here and here.

And here, exclusively and for your pleasure, is a teaser of my story in the anthology, Recursion:

… My breath is caught in the tight ball of Helene’s fist, strangled in the sheets.  Fuck her, I want to scream. Please. I have to close my eyes and I feel my jaw twitch. A welling up of warmth floods out from between my tightly closed labia and soaks my panties. My thigh muscles are quivering. I can smell them both now. And hear their breathing. I’m worried that if I move even an inch, it will kick off an orgasm and I’m not sure I can ride it through in silence.

Suddenly he hooks his fingers into the leg of her panties, pulls them aside and slides into her cunt with a single rough thrust. The keening that springs from her chest flays the skin off my body. Thin and high and breathy, it dies out in hiccups through the first series of thrusts…

  3. Exquisite, lush writing. Feel of bloodwarm slippery under things, quiet scents, puckered come-hither curved fingers, allows me sweet access to our own pleasures.

I look forward to reading your story aloud, curled up with my lover.

Now, go do your happy dance!

  4. A very big congrats. WTG.
