This piece hurts me. Every time I read it. I always think… I do not have the faith or the trust to open myself up to that deep a wounding. Be it surface or internal I have enough wounds to deal with. Enough that I am unwilling to allow more or even a chance of them.

It is superbly written as always but a painful piece to my perception

huh. I never thought about it that way, Rgirl, but that makes an amazing amount of sense to me. I was never a believer in unconditional love towards oneself, or anyone else for that matter, but i can see your point. The story was excellent, by the way.
