You’re right. It IS apt & I even went so far as to applaud along with Mr Pullman’s audience.
Brilliant. Of his I’ve only read the His Dark Materials trilogy, which I loved and not the least because of it’s irreverence and anti-Christian sentiment.
He sums up the premise and simplicity of free speech perfectly.
