I recently was interviewed by Alex over at Shiterotica. We had a very nice chat about writing, fisting, poor grammar, why I hate Stephanie Meyer  and death metal bands.  I wish I could say it was terribly insightful, but mostly it was just silliness. However, you do need to check out the Shiterotica blog. Alex takes examples of hideously written smut and turns them into full on comedy. Not only will it give you publicly unacceptable belly laughs, but behind it he gets to the heart of what makes bad erotic writing so bad. So it’s filthy, funny AND educational. Who could ask for more.

Erotica Apocrypha

In other news, I’ve just purchased Freaky Fountain Press’ latest anthology: Erotica Apocrypha: Interpretations of myth and the divine, edited by Catherine Leary and Robin Wolfe, featuring the work of: S.L. Johnson, Liahona, J.D. Hastings, Maxine Marsh, Cass Quinn, Clarice Clique, Lydia Swartz, Derrick Della Giorgia, Konrad Hartmann, L.J. LaBarthe, and Jacqueline Brocker.

“Call me crazy, but something about raping a virgin and chowing on the still-beating heart feels wrong.”
Heart Beating Still, by S.L. Johnson, from “Erotica Apocrypha”

I haven’t read it all yet, but who can resist an anthology that starts like this?

  1. I read the previous blog dissection and almost coughed up my cup of tea at “When your fangs are six inches long, you’re no longer a vampire. You’re a walrus.”
