I have only just learned how to write Senryu. I have @senryunectar to thank for this most exquisite pleasure. If you twitter, you must follow her. The challenge of the Senryu is to write in Haiku form (5 – 7 – 5 syllables) using a word proposed by one of the group. It’s lovely to watch different people become inspired by a single word, and read what comes out of that inspiration. I’ve bolded the words in each of the poems
Bring me desire
on a solemn silver tray.
I’ll sup on your flesh..
Your fault, my delight,
your chasm, my wide playground
my feral soul feeds..
Virgin moon, please burn
every vestige of regret
away with cold fire..
The back of your neck:
a crescent moon for my lips,
cradle for my lust..
White heat off dark skin.
The sun sees all your labours.
The moon sees your sins..
The flavor of night
settles secret on the tongue
like a dark jewel..
Observing the curl
of your slumbering fingers
I must come closer.
Wonderful! And thanks for explaining Senryu; it’s new to me.
I really enjoy Japanese poetry forms. I’m not a senryu expert, but I think you’ve done a good job with these. They’re very evocative.
Thanks for sharing and pointing the way to @senryunectar. Keep up the good work.

very different & interesting. I had never heard of this until now. Thanks for opening my eyes a little more 😉
It stupefies me, the way you manage to work something so subtly erotic and sinful, and yet so seemingly pure into every line, every word.
Bravo as always.
