Today Redbud (William Crimson) has added to the elevator meme with a lovely story called “Jacob’s Ladder“. Please take the time to savour it. It goes even further in exploring both the sterility and repetition of the quotidian life of little gray men and women – to wonderful effect.

“…The elevator doors smoothly closed. She turned her back to him and was pushed backward. Her buttocks, in the rounded gray skirt, pressed against his crotch. He nervously glanced to either side. His crotch stiffened.

  1. Thanks for starting the elevator lust meme. I’ve enjoyed all of the stories. My favorite so far is Redbud’s. I’m a sucker for twisted plots and other metafictional constructs.

  2. Clever twist in Jacobs Ladder. I thought the story seemed unusually rigid at first but of course that was part of the repetitive dream/coma process.

    Spending WAY too much time on this website RM. Dangerously addictive .Time to hit the sack. Perhaps have a nice, naughty dream ..
